Malawi: Constitutional Court starts hearing election result challenge

In Malawi, opposition parties the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and the United Transformation Movement (UTM) are joining forces to challenge the results of the May 21 presidential election, alleging electoral fraud. President Peter Mutharika, leader of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), held onto power in the election, narrowly defeating Lazarus Chakwera of the MCP.
