The reasons for their dethronement are being at loggerheads with the power that be, particularly the government which often leads to official pronouncements of dethronement, self-exiled to avoid abduction or sometimes removal by court injunctions that eventually order the king to vacate the throne.
The Kano State Government has announced the dethronement of the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and announced Ado Bayero as the new Emir of Kano. The government said Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was removed because of insubordination to the government of Kano and its people.
